William, do you have a test kit yet?  I highly recommend you get one ASAP if you don't already have one.  And here are some blog posts to read about cycling up a new system.  (generally you do it with few fish or even fishless)

I also recommend you start a discussion thread about your system and tell us in that thread the details of your system.

Like where you are, what your water source is, how big the fish tank is, how much filtration you have and how much plant space and what air pumping you are doing and how much water pumping you are doing.  You might as well start a thread and answer those questions up front along with the details of when you put fish in your system and how many.  And then do water tests and post the results.

See, you really don't need many fish to grow a lot of plants.  And though I'm not an expert on raft systems.  I think for a new system you want more like 1 fish per 3 square feet of raft instead of your over 9 fish per 1 square foot you have now.  And if you don't have lots of filtration already cycled up, I'm kinda scared for your huge number of fish perhaps experiencing ammonia and nitrite spikes bad enough to kill them all.

See Aquaponics isn't just fish and plants, there is a third side to the triangle, the bacteria and filtration, without that, the other two don't tend to do well.

My fish tank is 1000 gal. I'm planing to grown 6 -10 tomato plants which I understand to be heavy feeders, along with all the other stuff.  Green beans, cuccumbers, squash, cabbage, peas, and all maner of herbs and greens.  If I need to thin out the fish then so be it.  Have zero experiance but am not going to let that stop me.  Is why I joined this group, to learn from others. I hope to learn from everyone.

Yea, uh William, Welcome.

I do fear you are probably a bit overboard.  128 square feet of raft bed, what additional filtration do you have?  That sounds like way too many fish, how big is the fish tank?  I'm hoping it's a big swimming pool.

Hello to all florida folks from Panama city area.  Just got my system built and running with goldfish (18), Koi (2), and bluegill (1200). Hope I didn't go over board with the numbers, all bluegill are 1" -2" , Koi 4"-5", and glodfish 1"-6". I had my pumps running now for 6 days. I've got 128 sqft of raft area.  Just wanted to introduce myself to the group.

It's been so hard to find anyone who sells any species of tilapia fingerlings in South Florida. So it got me thinking, I have a couple of acres down here that I'm not doing anything with. Maybe I'll start breeding tilapia and selling fingerlings to our local growers and enthusiasts. Of course they would be available for anyone to buy, but the main purpose of me starting this facility is to provide for the locals. Would anyone be interested in purchasing? Just trying to get an idea, to see if the venture is worth the time and investment. Thank to all.

Hello,

I am selling my home in St. Petersburg, Fl.  3/bedrooms, 2/bathrooms, 2 car garage

Back yard has a outdoor living area surrounded by 3 large ponds plus 2 smaller ponds. Thumbnail pic shows you how it is set up. I currently have sucessfully bred koi here.   I also have a small aquaponic gardening area where I grow vegetables. This set-up could accomodate Talipia.  I am located near the Skyway Bridge area in delightful Pinellas Point.  Price- $150,000.  .

You can get them from Morningstar Fisherman in Dade city. That's about an hour away from downtown depending on traffic.

Anyone know a good place to get blue tilapia's around Orlando? Pure breed. I want to pick them up. $90 in shipping. Forget that. That's more then buying the fish.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I wouldn't feed fish guts back to the fish, my chickens would go on strike, they believe all fish remains belong to them.
