I have put an aluminet shade cloth over my greenhouse and it has done a great job of lowering the temp by almost 20 Degrees. I will take some pics of it and post them. I was very surprised at the high quality of the product. The best price I found was actually from Vertigro for .30 sq ft.

50%. That is what Tim at Vertigro recommended. It lets in more light than the shade I had up but is much cooler. I used the real cool PVC Clips that hold it to a piece of 1" PVC. I will take some photos of that tomorrow also. It should last about 5 years or more. I got 20 x 30 for around 160. I am also adding some box fans to the lower windows. I will take pics of those also. I wish I could find a cheap themostat switch.

Sounds great. I used some 40% when I had my structure up but I left it up year round. Definitely reflects heat away, good stuff.

Open up as much as you can on that greenhouse for summer. I totally removed or rolled up the plastic on the sides of mine for summer.

It just gets so hot here from now till October.

Hi Michael, I have bought box fans, in the past, that have a thermostat built into them. It's just a knob that you rotate, to set when you want then to come on/off. I don't remember exactly where I bought them. Perhaps Home Depot or Wal-mart. They were only a few dollars more then a typical box fan.

I just drove down to Crystal river and bought 3 of the Box fans. . They are perfect. Fit right into my windows. All on the lower North side. I will look them over to be sealed for better wet weather performance. I would be happy if they last the season. Who knows maybe I will rig up a little swamp cooler action that runs when the fan turns on. I have the ridge cap out. In the winter I will rig it with the solar motors I have to open.

Im also using 50% aluminet shade cloth. This is some awesome stuff. My greenhouse would be an oven without it.

I use wiggle-wire to attach/detach it very easily.

In just a few weeks I will be taking down my Aluminet shade cloth. I will keep you posted as to when.
