We use this feed from Star Milling (see link). Small sized feed for multiple fish species including tilapia. For fry we just grind it up. Approximately $28 for a 50lb bag from the feed store at 7th Ave and Baseline in Phoenix.
Thank you
HI Tom:
I just bought a 50 Lb bag of that fish food and would be happy to split some off . I live in Scottsdale off the 101 and chaparral

I found most feed stores like Western Ranchman sell pond pellets with 36% protein for .90 cents a pound. I feed this to my 4" tilapia.

found some at Pratts. Name brand "Star Milling" Thanks for the information.
I have used river rock and I am switching to expanded clay in a new set up. Any word of advise. I cleaned it but I still got some discoloration in the water. Is that going to be a problem?
Jim
I started using the Star milling and my water cleared up very nicely. Had no idea it was the food. I was using pond pellets purchased at walmart. I just need to be careful I don't get my finger bit off. They love it. Thanks again for the offer.

I like the Aquamax 4000 it is made for Talapia and catfish. It has a 36ish protein but only about 6% fat most fish foods have about 11-12% fats can not remember where but I read Talapia have a tendancy for faty livers. Thus I went for a lower fatty food. Oh it is about $35 per 50lbs bag
great info guys! Where is that store on 7th Ave and Baseline? is it in the feed store? Cuz I was looking for a fish store and didn't spot one yesterday. Thanks!
I'll be buying some star milling mid October. Won't have fish till then, so won't need it before then. Anyone want to go in on a big bag with me?
