Aquaponic Gardening

A Community and Forum For Aquaponic Gardeners

So It is the slow season for growing in florida. How about planing a one day tour to a few of our sites in Central Florida. We could go to Morningstar, my place and some others in the general central florida area.  Maybe a Caravan.  Up to a few hours at a couple of locations.  Maybe a couple of meals together.  I could accommodate a Dozen or more and a meal here.  Chime in what do you guys think?

Ok, in one line you say we are on for the 24th and then you go on to say the 25th
Which is it?

And please re-post the schedule.

I spoke with Hans from Morningstar Fisherman. We are welcome on the 25th. So we will have to stick to the schedule tightly.
Arriving at Morning Star at 3 pm. This will give folks plenty of time to get a tour and for those who want fish to have them ready for transport home. All you need is a cooler with an aeration. They will give you the fish and tank water. Also a good way to get some bacteria.
So lets get a head count. You can meet us on the tour at any of our scheduled stops.

Ah, well when I came back in, it is working now for me. Guess things were just slow temporarily or something.

I should probably go make up a map that will tell people how to get to my place since some of the "portions unpaved" are kinda sandpits at times. So I'll see if I can work up a map to link here to help people find my place along with some of my normal special instructions.
Ok Did a map with some directions that could help people find my place. If coming here from the Orlando area, I expect most people will come up 441 from Apopka (either all the way up 441 or perhaps up 429-new toll road- from points further South And West.) We are aprox 10 or 11 miles Northwest from where 429 meets 441. You will drive through Zellwood before you get up to my place. The wake up call to start watching for the turn is Saddler road, it's the last traffic light before my turn off. There are two gas stations both on the Left or West side at that light. Then you go down a bit of a dip before driving up a hill, at the top of the hill watch for a real Left Turn Lane, you will want to use it to turn left onto Earlwood Ave as if you are heading to the post office. If you pass Sunny Pines Trailer park and Vincents restaurant, you have gone too far.

On the map I did draw a line over to the turnpike from my neighborhood by a sort of back way for those who can't stand traffic lights (since 441 over to Leesburg is full of them).

If you are coming From the North on 441 to my place, you will want to turn Right on Dudley Ave which is just past Sunny Pines Trailer park. When you see Vincent's Restaurant you want to be slowing down. If you miss it, you can use either of the next two paved roads to get into the neighborhood and should be able to look at the map to find the place

Here is a link to the map I just worked on.

Cosmo,
I am unable to make the total trip. Could I just meet up with the group at the pleasant Grove stop?
Of course anyone can join us at at stop. Just let us know. We will keep the schedule.
Sorry been off line for awhile in nowhere Georgia (They filmed Deliverance just 20 minutes away).

I'm on for the 24th and will be with Michael. No need for Morningstar fish this time unless I get a nasty floating surprise upon my return home. My autofeeder is stocked for three weeks, so I "should be okay".

I'm going to add some Florida Fish Farm cats soon, but that will need to be a different trip due to logistics.
