1-The liner I used for my cattle panel mesh tank is just EPDM firestone pondguard pond liner I got from just liners plus. Kinda tricky to fold into a round tank nicely though.
2-?uh which raised bed do you mean? The gravel grow beds get water from the fish tank generally and the system was originally filled with well water and gets topped up with well water when there isn't much rain. The dirt raised garden beds are getting drip irrigation from the well.
3-Do you not compost the manure before using it? Rabbit pellets I know won't burn plants in the garden but it may still be risky to use them direct without composting or aging as far as the pathogen side of things go. Any manure from warm blooded animals that can pass pathogens to us should be composted before use in the garden. Or at least aged a certain amount of time before anything should be harvested from a field that had fresh manure spread on it (generally at least 6 months I believe.)
The reason we don't want fresh warm blooded manure in our aquaponics systems is that there is no "composting" phase there. The water mixes everything so there is no way to keep the plants from being touched by whatever is in the water.
TCLynx, I tried to post on the florida group and it put up a note to (Join) when I attempted to post, clicked on the note and nothing happens, can't join.
Here are a couple of questions:
1. Where did you get the liner for your round tank with the cattle grate support?
2. What water were you putting on your raised bed?
3. Understood you to say we should not use water that had warm blooded waste in it, yet we use rabbit pellets, bat quano, horse, cow , etc manure. What is the difference?
TIA, bernie
Bernie, are you a member of the Florida group?
you probably need to join the group and then you should be able to post.
TCLynx, I can not seem to post to your new spot. Would someone else try it please! bernie
Ok here is a link to the new thread so that people can post without worry that it will vanish tomorrow.
I'm gonna go start a discussion about this one where people can post pictures and questions/comments as the events vanish after the date passes. So give me a few minutes and I'll come back a post the link to the new thread here.
Thanks guys for putting the tour together. It was my first exposure other than Epcot and was impressed that this hobby can consume you. I am going to lay low for a while and see some of the developments that are adapting to florida. Looked at a rabbit ranch after leaving TCLynx's and am going to get a couple of breeding rabbits soon, I have the hutches constructed.

I have been thinking of you all today and I hope eveyone enjoys the trip. all is good and I will be setting up a sysyem when I get the homestead that I am looking for. I am after 5 - 10 acres within 40 minutes of Orlando - with a water feature.
God Bless all Forbes
