While feeding this morning, I noticed the fish didn't frenzy-feed as usual. When I checked for any dead ones, I found this one floating...with enlarged anal opening, and an empty body cavity. I have…Continue

Came across an article on this newly opened business in the WW2 tunnels far below London, England. Thought it might be useful to those of you doing Aquaponics or Hydroponics in you basement.…Continue

Hi Pam, Are you still doing the aquaponics thing? All of the tilapia that we got from you are still alive. Some are reaching harvest size 10" and about 1.2 lb. One or two of the females must have hatched fingerlings I see a few fry and a few fingerlings swimming around. Tried to net some females (protecting a corner of the tank) but they were too quick need a bigger net I guess.I have a 29 gal tank set up in the garage for breeding if I can catch a few. We grew an abundance of peppers but only had 1 eggplant and 1 tomato so far, also had lots of salad greens. Lets keep in touch. God Bless
Oh, I have no green thumb whatsoever. I've though about getting just a tiny system in my apartment or something, but I don't have the space to have a bigger system.
Hi Pam,
Back from Kauai, great trip but brought back a cold and sore throat. Cloudy, windy and cold (65-72). spent a lot of time in the water snorkeling. We would be interested in some of your tilopia, maybe 30 or so. I lost my Koi in the kitchen tank. I added 2 more grow bed and plumbing. I think the PVC cement in the new plumbing killed them. I won't do that again. my phone # is 520-471-5622. call evenings. Thanks and God Bless.
Thanks, Pam, I'll check it out. I want to use it in my breeding tank - 100 gallons - and I leave the fry in there until they're about an inch long - but the ammonia was getting out of control. I just removed the babies two days ago - and three other large fish that were superfluous males. So now I have two males and one female in the breeding tank - want to add at least one more female later. I couldn't afford the Poret, but was at the hardware store the other day and found a nice air filter for a furnace that has a hard plastic frame and is sizable. I cut it down to fit and wedged it into the tank to separate the pump and pump filter from the rest of the tank like they do the Poret. It was $20 - but the price on the Poret plus shipping was $100 or so. It is working very well. My tank is cleaner than it's ever been. I'm very happy so far.
