Please tell us something else about yourself.: I am twenty two years old and looking to become self sustainable using aquaponics. I have a wife, 3 year old son, 1year old daughter and I also take care of two of my younger brother in laws. I believe in the principle that when you give someone the ability to provide you with everything, they can also take everything away from you. I see the rising foods costs and I don't want to jeopardize my families health by having to purchase cheaper foods. My father grew up in Guanaguato Mexico and came to the states after graduating from college with a agricultural engineering degree. He ended up having to become a welder once he moved to the states but never stopped practicing agriculture. I grew up with him growing peppers, tomatoes, citrus fruits, and dwarf apples. I've always had an earnest desire to help change the world which I feel this could help me. My dream would be to eventually move to Mexico and teach my people this way of agriculture. In the end I believe knowledge should be free and to give someone the knowledge to live is the most powerful knowledge of all.

There is a real blend of experienced and new aquapons in this community, so please don’t hesitate to get in there and start asking questions. Everyone is quite happy to help out new members – no question is too basic.
