Can anyone give me a hint of what to expect from fennel?  Mine is going crazy, taking over the grow beds (kind of like mint does in a garden), without starting to bulb.  Am I being impatient, or…Continue

Hydro feed mix

Randy, I got the recipe from MHPGardener on youtube.  It is very similar to the Mittleiter recipe and others I've found.  Basically I use equal parts Masterblend Tomato Fertilizer 4-18-38 and Calcium Nitrate, plus a half part epsom salt.  Since my city water has chloramine, I also add 1/8 teaspoon of Ascorbic Acid USP per 5 gallons of water.  My mix ratio for fruit bearing plants is (in grams) 12-12-6, for lettuce and greens 10-10-5 for 5 gallons.  I also add a worm tea about once a month.  Though I have my own worm farm now, and get real tea, I find the worm power product below to be a lot cleaner and takes less effort.   For greens I try to keep Ph close to 5.5, but for everything else 5.5 - 6.8 seems to work great.

Robert,

My name is Larry Renegar. My wife and I live in the Brentsville/Nokesville area and are seriously thinking of doing aquaponics. I was wondering if we could meet and possibly pick your brain?

Thanks fro your time,

Larry Renegar
