Aquaponic Gardening

A Community and Forum For Aquaponic Gardeners

Hey guys! :)

I am new to aquaponics but also very enthusiastic about this amazing topic!
Currently I am planning to build a vertical aquaponic for indoor and I am not sure how to begin with this project.
Do you have any tips? How would you start? Which system and which media for the plants would you recconmend?

Thank you so much!

The easier vertical set up would probably be a large PVC pipe, connected to a reservoir tank at the bottom. The size of the PVC pipe can change depending on the desired effect. The reservoir tank will host the pump which will move water to the top of the tower. This is probably not the easier start for anyone though lol.

I would start with fill-drain media beds or flow tubes all connected to a fish tank. I currently have my 60-gal aquarium set-up to feed a media-filled grow bed placed on the top with home-made LED lights. It helps filter my aquarium so I don't have to make water changes and I can grow herbs and flowers in the same space the fish tank already occupies.

I am starting a company to consult and assist in designing and setting up home aquaponic systems and invite you to send me a message for additional help!

Yes, it's a great idea to build an indoor vertical aquaponic system. To set up a vertical aquaponic, you can use GroPockets Kits. GroPockets are used to turn PVC pipe into the ideal vertical growing system. It is faster, easier and cheaper way to eliminate the growing media inside the pipe.
