This is a new kind of siphon I developed this year. In my own biased opinion it is much easier to use than a bell siphon, just as reliable and is hidden below the surface of the grow bed. It also only takes 5 minutes to make out of elbows, pipe, a T and some end caps.

Tell me what you think!

This is interesting. I am building an IBC system and was about to make an Affnan siphon. I will set up one each and see how they compare.

Let me know if you need any help or clarification. The three small grow beds with the EZ-T siphons are still working well 6 months down the line.

I need to get some information about the bulkheads... sent a request. Msg me pls

I want to build one today using 1/2" standpipe. What diameter should my drainpipe be?

All the components are 1/2 inch until you get to the bottom of the drain pipe where you get a 1/2 to 3/4 elbow and use 3/4 pipe for your horizontal run.

I guess I have to go back to the store. All I got was 1/2". :(

Yea that elbow at the bottom of the drain pipe will help the siphon stop when the bed is empty. You could try without it for a while, but your system will be more reliable with it.

What size drill bit did you use for your drain holes? Do you think 3/16 would be too small?
I'm building the O mod.

Glen Martinez built one couple years ago.. I really like the "Upside down" siphon he did, but the external is next on my list of must try items.

The hole through the bottom of the growbed for a 1/2 inch bulkhead I believe is 1 1/4 inches. Spin the bit backwards if your going through plastic

Did he post pictures? I did an external loop siphon that I'm happy with but it would be interesting to do a T siphon externally too. Could be easier to manage root issues and grow bed fill levels...Got me thinking!
