Alternative species

What non common species are you using in your AP system? I have been experimenting with red cherry shrimp for deep water root cleaning and black worms for the bottom of my growbeds to sludge are any of you using these species or other ones you care to share? I also have a few species of plecos in my systems to keep the algae down.

Pest management species count? I'm using Aphidoletes aphidimyza (predatory midge) for aphid control and N. californicus (predatory mite) for controlling spider mites.

I want to experiment with vampire crabs next.they are a freshwater fiddler crab that likes dead plant matter and left over fish food.
