question about cycling no fish need help.

Ok long story short I am on day 14 of cycling and hade to leave town for a couple days and wife kept up ammonia levels up while I was gone today I go and check water and I'm at 2 ppm ammonia, 5.0ppm nitrite and 60 -80 ppm nitrate and ph is 8.0 water temp stays at 80-81.I have plants in no fish what should I do at this point in time thanks for any help.

dechlore your water. I just had a customer that could not get his tank to cycle his water treatment plant told him they didn't use chloramines and they ended up finding out they do have chloramines and as soon as he added clorimax or another good dechlore and his system cycled.

Ok ill order some I off gas the water for a couple days but I haven't got any answers if my plant used cloramines yet I live in lake community and we have are own treatment plant I should get answer in the next couple days.

Looks to me like you need to let it run.  You have both types of bacteria just not enough yet.

Yea it cycled last night 0 amm 0 nitrite :-)
