Aquaponic Gardening

A Community and Forum For Aquaponic Gardeners

Hi,

My plants are dying.  This is my first aquaponic system that I have started about 3 months ago.  Everything seems OK until I have noticed that my zucchini start dying before fruiting.  I saw some little things on the leaves but I thought it was sands.  But I think it is something else.  If you know what it is and how to get rid of it please let me know.

I think they're aphids?  Look here: Click:Aphids

Thank you David.

Oh, those are aphids alright....It's always a good idea to take a close look at your plants on a regular basis.

I don't have any spray recommendations for you that I've used personally, but if you like bio-control, then predatory midge larva worked quite well for me :)

Thank you Alex.

What happened is we had a sandy day about two weeks ago and I thought it was sands because this is my first gardening experience ever since grade school in planting somthing.  What I did is I used water presure carfully and I cleaned it as much as I can.  Next, I'm going to get a spray from the local market and I will cover my media bed with news paper as much as I can to protect it from the spray.  I will keep you update it. Thanks again.
