looking for large tank

I can help you here. I am getting four 950 gal tanks for my aquaponics system from http://www.polytankco.com/. They have a cone bottom that allows for solids to fertilize the growbeds and thereby keeping the tank clean. Hope this helps.

hands down the least expensive option (besides and EZ tank) is the ol water tank with the lid cut out.

go for one that's wide and short.

Gotta disagree with you there Rob. This has got to be the least expensive option. Yet to see someone use one though.

Also, I know a guy who has been trying to sell a used 950 gallon poly tank in SoCal for over a year. He wants 450 for it out the door I believe. If anyone stumbles on this post in the future and is interested, PM me and I'll see if he still has it.

I dont have a clue if it would work with the fish, however i dont see why not, unless the fins of the fish were to penetrate it... However, if you look on craigslist for pools, a 12' x 36" pool goes for as low as 25 dollars here, and that would grant you 1779 gallons roughly, and they would have existant hookups to plumb to and from, the question remains would they stand the possibility of the fins puncturing them. However it is a thought... If you try this, let me know if it works... Thanks
