Transplant Shock In Media Beds

I've seen a couple videos around youtube claiming that you can transplant vegetables from one area to another in an aquaponic media bed with no side effects or transplant shock. My personal experience has led me to believe this is a load of crap, but I'm curious, what experiences have others had? Have you transplanted aquaponically grown vegetables in a media bed and what happened?

I have done this but not without shock. I had to move some large broccoli plants out of a bed full of squash due to space issue. The broccoli did produce but not as well after being moved
Small starts also experience a short period of shock

Heat can make it difficult.  I've done it a lot with mostly good results.
