Aquaponic Gardening

A Community and Forum For Aquaponic Gardeners

Hi everyone!

I'm doing some research for Sylvia on what the most sought after Aquaponic information and training would be.

Personally, I really like hands on training modules mixed in with theory classes, and I also like the idea of afternoon classes based on specific things like pest and insect control for example.

So, in your ultimate Aquaponic Training Course, what topics would you want to see covered, and how would you like to see the training structured?

Besides the Aquaponics basics, is there any other stuff you are fascinated by? Pests, seedlings, lighting, heating/cooling, automation, rafts, towers, supplement sprays, etc etc?

Is there a topic out there that you just can't find reliable info on, or something that you feel the need to see close up to get a better understanding of? Please share your thoughts, we want to tailor this stuff to what you guys want!

Hi Tim,

Great idea for AP training! I would like to suggest some detail on dealing with post commissioning AP system issues, particularly with pest/diseases and the approach of organic treatment/solutions involved.

I'd love to see a bunch of different ways people are starting seeds.  Seed Starting Systems from Around the World

Also...a section on Air Lift Pumps ala Glenn Martinez would be great.  I was just at his farm a couple days ago and he's doing some crazy aeration stuff.

Setting up a big farm and planning on it and what not would be cool.

I would like to see a little more in the way of "off Grid" topics. I am really interested in how her plumber friend was doing with his ground battery system?

+1 for what Matt T. said.

Awesome guys thankyou, this is all sounding great!

Well, third world aquaponics application has been a concept of interest to me lately...

That would definitely be a very interesting avenue to explore... I'm liking all this arduino stuff more and more as well.

Robbie's ground battery system has been delayed by above average colorado rainfall (which filled his basement) but I'm looking forward to seeing it come to completion as well. It's looking pretty cool.

+1 for what Alex Veidel said.
