Tanks with Windows Could Stress Fish

According to Murray Hallam, light causes stress in fish. They prefer partial shade. Does anyone think that viewing windows in fish tanks are going to make a significant negative impact on fish health?

The way my tank is situated, the fish may as well be invisible.  People like to see fish.  Direct, bright lighting could be a problem but indirect?  I doubt it.

Excellent point George. Windows are awesome. You want to be able to see your fish; it's kind of the reason you're doing aquaponics. Just don't set up flood lights :) Fish don't mind a little light, but excess lighting will stress them out, especially if its constantly being turned on and off.

The tank in the photo belongs to drumurphy, another member - he posted it recently.  

My tank is fiberglass and in the ground, covered, not conducive to fish watching.  

If you want a tank window, go for it.  Regarding fish health, that might be easier to monitor if you can see them.
