Can anyone help with a good fish resource in the Sierra Foothills/Sacramento area of California?

At this time I have Koi and Pond Comets which are not producing the waste needed to produce the good bacteria in my aquaponic system.

Looking for White Sturgeon, Blue Channel catfish and freshwater shrimp. Open for suggestions in other fish that will survive at the 1650 ft. elevation of the Sierra Foothills also.

Are you looking for certified producers only or anyone?

I do want organically fed fish and free of parasites otherwise does not matter at this time.

There are 2 posts about fish sources in the Sacramento group. The most current one is Paul Trudeau who spoke with Gregg Leonard at Freshwater Fish Company and they may be selling smaller quantities once a month to AP/ Pond people.

If you want to support a local AP'er ask Jon Parr- Last I heard he had fingerlings ready for homes. his profile page is http://community.theaquaponicsource.com/profile/JonParr

Thank you Jessica, I did see Paul's post. I will check with Jon Parr.

I would like to find White Sturgeon, Blue Channel catfish and freshwater shrimp if possible.

So I live in the northern Nevada desert, but this seemed like the closest group around.  Does anyone know about the legality of bringing fish from CA to NV?

I would just call fish and game, if your buying from a certified producer it shouldn't be a problem because they are certified parisite and disease free. The other problem you could run into (huge problem in CA) is if the fish you want are on the restricted list, but F&G will tell you that.

Good idea.  I plan to grow bluegills, they are legal in NV (unlike Tilapia).  Are they legal in CA?
