Aquaponic Gardening

A Community and Forum For Aquaponic Gardeners

Friends, I just finished the build on the 14-tote system (was cut down from 16-IBCs for lack of space).  I connected two each of the totes together with a cross-over siphon for bio-security.  The reason is that if any disease hits a particular double unit, I need to only shut down those two IBCs and the rest of the system can keep on growing.  This way I don't lose hardly any growing/harvesting time.

Now that the build is complete, we can work on cleaning, bringing the building to code, and putting in the electric and lights.  We believe that we will be up and running by the end of August.  Also we will be able to provide some produce to the public by the middle of February when it is -20 outside.

For those of you that are new to what I am doing, I have acquired a 100' x 30' barn that will be heated by a wood boiler system.  Not only do I have access to the lower area but the upper area as well which measures 100' x 30' x 40' to the peak.  This building has so much potential going for it, it is just unbelievable.

Click on my avatar and check out the pics I just posted.  The gentileman sitting is my friend June Washington, good friend and also a budding aquapon.  Any comments, suggestions or constructive critisim is welcome.  Thanks for listing to my writings, needless to say, I'm excited about this venture.
