I've always had a black thumb... However, this year I bought 5 acres in Mims, and have a baby on the way. I always knew I wanted fresh produce from a garden of my own, but also knew about my thumbs' unfortunate lack of chlorophyll pigmentation. I planted a soil garden this year, with mixed results. Then, while wondering the Organic magazines, I happened upon Aquaponics. That was a week ago. Since then I've done hours of research, read the "Myths" booklet on Amazon, and am reading the one by Bernstein now. In my excitement at this "discovery", I have also launched my dad and my friend into ravenous-information mode. Both are planning to build systems right away. I am still reading...
Living in Central Florida, are there are any places I can go see one of these in action?

Welcome! I know Green Acres Aquaponics is based in Florida, although I'm not sure where exactly. Also check out Morning Star Fishermen.

Check out the members map...you seem like you might be near a few well known 'hot spots'.
It seems a natural progression, spearfishing to aquaponics.
Check the member map - send friend requests. Possibly someone will invite you over. There are member open houses/tours from time to time.
TC Lynx has several types of systems at her place in Cen. Fl.
Thanks for the replies, I'm eating this info.
Lynx is about 30 minutes from my buddy, who is also looking at AP. We might go check that out. Thanks!
I think over the next 2 weeks, we'll be getting something started in Sanford. Then I'll work on one for my place. I keep telling the wife she'll enjoy this too, but we have a baby due in about 6 weeks, so she doesn't believe me yet ;-)
