My lettuce is collapsing under its own weight. Everything else seems to be growing OK.

Also, I'm having a slow growth rate -- these were planted April 7.

A friend that grows tall plants suggested a fan, to give it some wind like it would get outdoors.

Anyone have any other ideas? I thought my water chemistry was in good shape but now I'm starting to wonder.

Hi Hank,

Could be insufficient lighting making them leggy.

Hank,

I am rather new at this game, but I have seen plants beg for more light and your plants could use a bit more. I don't know the water stats but a bigger gun in the light department could help. The smaller plants are to far from the light source.

Following up: I added light last weekend and everything is shooting up, it's so awesome. Strangely, the cukes are doing best ... I read that they would be hardest. I have flowers now and they are climbing the net trellis like the know exactly what to do.

The lettuce is still sketchy -- grew very slowly -- but it's a lot less spindly and may make it after all, if a bit stunted. I'll have to market it to my wife as baby greens.
