anyone know what this is?  seems like it just appeared overnight...  or maybe i just haven't noticed it till today... not sure.

Looks like a plant hopper.  Poke it with a pine needle to see if small insects jump out and run in different directions.

That sucks, i had a good looking pepper growing on that stem...

There not much of a problem.  Just hose them off.  They do suck some nutrients from the plant but usually do little damage.  At least that's what I have been told.

I just saw this... Do you still have the problem? The picture is blurry, but it looks a lot like the mealy bugs we had last year on our hibiscus. I hosed them off with worm tea a few times and they were gone.

These look like wooly aphids to. I get these on my peppers, eggplants, I think okra as well.
