Where is the best place to get well water tested?

Had a water well drilled on Wednesday and want to have the water tested to possibly use in my fish tank.

I thought of taking it to my local pool supply store but don't know if that is the best option.

If it was a permitted well, depending where you live, the health department will test it for a fee.

You should be able to contact your agricultural extension service to find out where/how to get it tested.  Any Home inspection companies will know where to send water samples for testing as well.  You can also get test kits from Lowes or Home Depot that will test for several things in a sort of general way.
