I'm ready to source my fish for a 60 gallon tank. Even getting the Illinois aquaculture facility permit - apparently required even  for personal systems.

Was going to get tilapia, but my source bailed on me and tilapia is a non-approved species in Illinois anyways, requiring yet another permit and system inspection by the state.

So I'm looking for a place that has yellow perch or similar. I have a list of hatcheries (not sure how up-to-date it is), but just wondering if anyone has a recommendation.

   thanks!

Growing power raises yellowperch and is out your way. Maybe give them a call.

You might see if he can give you any tips.

Yes, thanks. I do want to visit and have a look. The problem is that importing fish across state lines requires yet another permit, so I'm trying to buy within Illinois. I could (and probably would) normally just blow off the permits for a tiny home system, but I am also trying to learn the ins-and-outs of scaling things up. So learning the permit process is useful in and of itself.

Claude, definitely contact Philip Wolf, he has a big system (well bigger than a little home system) set up at "We Grow Dreams"

No crossing state lines.
