Aquaponic Gardening

A Community and Forum For Aquaponic Gardeners

Hi Everyone! We're Expanding! We are pleased to announce that we have just received the necessary permits to build a new greenhouse. This 1200 square foot, state-of-the-art building will utilize some of our latest technology to enhance the building’s energy conservation, as well as monitor and control an aquaponics growing system. The greenhouse will be used for our research and development, and it will become the focal point of the farm as a visitor center. Construction is scheduled to start this spring and we are eagerly waiting for the ground to thaw.

This video is the first part of a series I'll produce over the next year or so. I hope you enjoy the adventure!

Poured the footings today!

A little preview of the next video!  ;-)

I finally finished up the 5th video in the series.  This one covers how the footings were done, and then a little problem with flooding in the foundation hole!

Another teaser for the next video.  ;-)

The block walls are done and I'm finishing up the sump tank area.  Pretty soon the entire area will be back filled and all this hard work will will disappear under the ground.  ;-)

looks good!

I've made some excellent progress in the last month on the dome! The entire concrete block wall was built and I'm now moving on to some of the heating and plumbing that will be buried under the floor. I'm still hoping to have most of it built before the snow flies!

Another teaser video. It's moving along quickly! Most likely the dome part will go up within the next week!

Fellow forum member Steve Perreault and I worked into darkness to get the dome structure up.  With a few pulls and pushes, the enter thing fit together perfectly!  It was amazing to see it go together.  Too bad we couldn't see the finished dome in the dark!  My daughter was holding the flashlight so we could put the last few sections in place.  ;-)  Special thanks to Steve for a job well done!

Amazing! Kudos.
Looks great Rob, thanks for sharing!

Most of you know that the dome's frame is up, but here's the next video in the series about what will be hiding under the floor.  (you should be able to hit the expand button on the video to watch in hi-def!)
