Aquaponic Gardening

A Community and Forum For Aquaponic Gardeners

Just wanted to say hello as I have just joined. I am located in Rensselaer Indiana and have been doing aquaponics for going on my 2nd year now. I have designed and built my own system and have also started a blue tilapia hatchery. I am looking forward to discussions and gaining more knowledge by being a part of this group.

Welcome.  Did you find a threaded fitting that fits the stock tank drain?  I'm still under construction but getting there slowly.

G

Between Ace Hardware & Rual King I found most everything I needed. The fitting is threaded on one end and the other is pvc. Can't remember the size but I took the plug with me to compare.

welcome

I live in merrillville IN., I have been doing aquaponics for 5 years

I'll use stock tanks for growbeds and will be plumbing standpipes on the inside of the stock tanks.  Not sure if I'll be able to go through the existing drain hole out but we'll see.  Thanks.

The 100 gallon stock tanks I think the plug is usually 1 1/4" threads.  However the fitting is designed to thread only from the outside of the tank so that doesn't help much for a stand pipe inside a stock tank bed.  I usually use uniseals to plumb stand pipes into my stock tanks.
Hello from Velpen, IN! We are newbies to Aquaponics and are in the process of setting up our first tank. We are looking forward to sharing and gleaning advice in this forum. It's good to know there are other Hoosiers interested in Aquaponics!
