I recently was surfing the web looking for other solar powered aquaponics sytems and found my system on a site that sells greenhouses.
I don't or wouldn't have minded if they at least ask, they don't claim it as theirs but have something wrote below it like "if you like this system check this out" which takes you to their sites main page, its also on their video section.
Clicking on the link will take you to what I'm talking about, but don't click on "check this out", otherwise you get bombarded with pop-ups.

I found another 1 that said something like rssnichefeed dot net or dot com. I'm not sure if thats a web hosting site or what. I'm not the most internet savy guy so maybe someone could explain that 1 too. I think it might be a search engine host site maybe?
Anyways any help, advice or explanations might clear things up for an inept computer guy.

does this make you an even more mad German?
Is it your system or your image they are using...or both?
This kind of thing drives me nuts. Whenever I see my images being used by another site I must confess that I start by politely asking them to either take it down or give me credit with a caption and a link back to my site. If they ignore me I get pretty nasty pretty quickly. It is basically stealing...and that just ain't right.
Yeah, I think its pretty unethical and low.
I mean yeah I did post it on a public website, but I built it to show something that I built and am proud of, not for some scamming money vulture to use.
They are using the video, I mean anyone could built or replicate my system, like I said , I kind of gave up exclusive rights to my particular design when I publicallly posted it. Don't really care about that, I just wanted to build something that was semi compact, self contained that could be moved and that anyone could build likewise because I believe this whole movement could explode if it were affordable, compact, movable, and leave zero carbon footprint.
But, the way I look at it, fine then they should build 1 of their own, at least put an effort into it.
My utlimate design is the 1 I'll share very little with when I build except to the AP community (people here).
TC gave me some pretty good direction, so hopefully what he recommended will work. Whats equally frustrating is the ethics and the pattern this company/person seems to have throughout the web. But still persist on being a dirtbag without a conscience.
But yeah it does make me mad, so now I guess I'm a mad mad german! LOL
contrary to what you seem to think, a design can still be protected after publishing it
that is not the case with a patent where newness is the main prerogative

Interesting, I was under the impression that all one had to do was alter it by 10% and they in turn could start production or replication. I guess if someone started mass producing a duplicate of my design it would or could be an issue, but the way it stands, where I'm located there really isn't a big demand for AP in flat mass farmed agriculture based on the millions of acres of tillable acreage...so sad.

as with patents, the depositing of a model is mainly a deterrant against copiers
so if you deposit a model, jus as with a patent, keep it as vague and as comprehensive as possible
Google Sketchup allows you to make a very detailed and accurate drawing for your own use
then in the styles panel, you have a choice of "sketchy" styles
try these out one by one, you will be amazed at the results
this could allow you to publish a sketch for all to see, later to sell the concept with (copyrighted) detailed drawings and instructions
