I think that works with all pumps. Put it this way - I've used a variety of pumps and I've never had it not work

Thanks for the reference. Great article! Quick question - in a timer based system, the water is pumped up to the grow bed through a tube and then drains back down the same way. For the water to drain OUT through the pump,...will all pumps do this or only certain ones?

Hi Natale. Glad you are enjoying it! I'm using a simple flood and drain using a timer (no siphon). The timer is set for 15 minutes on, and 30 minutes off. I actually just wrote an article about pluming an aquaponics system for Growing Edge that you might find useful. Let me know what you think.
