1) The Arduino board I got from Amazon, they range from anywhere between $20-$25.  I found they also sell them at radio shack.  The arduino boards are open source, so some people will make clone boards cheaper - I believe Fry's Electronics sells clones.

2) the motor shield is found around the same price ($25)

3) the motor was $17, but you can get much cheaper motors - you can get a simple DC motor for under 10 bucks that would do the job.

Everything else was parts laying around - 3/4 auger, pvc, water bottle.  If you don't have an auger check out craigs list I saw some dude in mesa selling them for about 8 bucks.
