Washed and disinfected Macro-bin 27 to be used for fish tank. I have 2, but will only use 1 to start. Filled with water to allow it to air out and lose its chlorine. San Jose water is supposed to have chloramine so I got some "NovAqua+" today also. Anyone have any experience with this conditioner? Target is Mossambicus Tilapia in tank in 4 weeks (Oct. 10).

This year I had an excellent ground crop of soy beans, long beans, tomatoes, red dragon peppers, spring onions and beets. Fruit crops were apples, asian pears, figs, oranges -- still waiting on kiwis and persimmons. Now, I want to add fish to that haul.

Removing chloramine

Posted on September 13, 2010 at 10:15pm 0 Comments

Just realized i have an old Fluval 303 pump/filter system. I will use that with all three stages running activated charcoal to get rid of the chloramine. I filled my tank (250gallons) yesterday and am letting it sit. I will run the filter for several days to convert the chloramine to ammonia. I should have my chem tester in by then to see if it works.
