Troy, I need to meet you. I also live in Denton, Tx and I desperately need help and support from experienced aquapons. I saw an old post of yours saying that you are trying to start a commercial operation. I am as well, but not here in Denton. My friend has land in Weatherford where we will be setting up shop this spring.
I know nobody in the area that does what we do and I am having trouble finding supplies without resorting to the internet. It would be awesome to hear from you and find out how/where you obtain your fish, duckweed, medium, etc. I am also interested to know how you and your system handles the Texas heat. If you would like to contact me directly, my number is 940-300-1038. Thanks! Brian Cheatham
Hi Troy This is Tim Mann of Friendly Aquaponics. I've been so busy I haven't even had time to visit the gardening forum. This forum is hard to figure out how to use sometimes, and I don't know what your direct email is. I don't want to just post the business plan cause no one else has asked for it, so if you email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, I will send a copy of the business plan directly to your email.
Yes, tilapia a jumpy buggers. Trout are even worse! They settle down after a day or so.

There is a real blend of experienced and new aquapons in this community, so please don’t hesitate to join in. Always thrilled to have experienced growers join us – please post some photos of your system!
We have just one rule - keep it cordial (no flaming!).
