I have finally got around to start to work building my AP system. I bought two 55 gal barrels and eight 275 gal IBC totes a few weeks ago and then the weather got cold and wet- progress stalled. At least we have had a few days
The system I now plan to build is quite a bit different than the one I originally planned. That is due to the help and advice of some of the people here.. Thank you.
I will buy the piping itself at one of the big box stores, but I can save a bundle by buying the fittings online.
Today I will begin cutting the IBC's.

I got drenched!!! I wanted to see just how much flow i could get to my 'cistern' IBC tank. Well,l I put an elbow and a 10 foot piece of PVC pipe onto the pump output to see how high a head pressure/flow I would have. Between the water falling down on me from that 10 ft height and the amount squirting through the connections that were just sorta jammed into place, as I danced around, I got wet!!!
Obviously there will be NO problem pumping as much water as i would like to my system..
I placed all the IBC cages in place the other day. Got them up on cinder blocksetc. Today I put all the IBC's into their cages. I have not plumbed a thing yet...BUT I added the ball valves and tee to the return line from the pump so I can run it to my AP cistern.
Jan 20: I have cut all the IBC cages. I ground the cut pieces so they are not so sharp. If you rub them the wrong way, you might still cut yourself but you won't lose a body part...
My stepson came by with a friend to help me move things. I bought $135 worth of materials: cinder blocks and landscape timbers. Plus they placed my IBC tank that I will use as a cistern for me. The top of that tank is 5 1/2 ft above grade. I can lower it a little if I have to, but for now, it is where I want it.
Next step is to cut the IBC tanks themselves and place the cinder block and timber supports.
