Muddy tasting fish??

I have a question about a small aquaponic system...our fish from our system last summer tasted like what mud smells like...does anyone have any clue as to why this is?

Did you purge the fish before you ate them?

Moving the fish to a separate holding tank where you discontinue feeding for about 6 days allows them to purge their systems and greatly improves taste.
