I Am a Genetic Engineer, Now

Before you guys accuse me of heresy I want to explain what I did and how genetic engineering works. (I wrote this quickly, so for any confusion leave a comment. Also, there should be a lively but informed debate—give everyone the chance to read what they wrote as they read yours. Harvest Day

My school operates an aquaponic greenhouse with 2 systems per class. We seeded a month and a half ago and the tilapia are eating and the plants were growing like crazy. At one point the cucumbers grew 3cm (1.2in) in one weekend. All of our seeds sprouted and grew like crazy. We held the plants in egg-cartons (I only suggest this if you have the power to keep bad bacteria at bay) so they would germinate.

An Aquaponics Education.

I recently started a biology/chemistry class with a focus on aquaponics, or an ecosystem with with both biotic and abiotic factors. The class is next to the school greenhouse, and when I got a good look at it, it had a fully functional aquaponics system with an aquarium and a media bed with a giant tomato bush!
