I raised tropical fish in a 100 tank hatchery for years. I also have a 30x50 pond and have fished a great deal of my life. I have an engineer friend who is trying to market aquaponic systems telling people there are no human pathogens with the system and while I don't believe that to be true I know for undeniable fact one must be extremely careful handling fish and that would corispond with produce in the system.

I was looking for input on it. I believe it is totally irresponsible to tell people it is a completely sfe system....that gives them license to be lazy.

Thanks for joining the Aquaponic Gardening community!  I hope you find it a fun place to explore aquaponics.  There is a real blend of experienced and new aquapons in this community, so please don’t hesitate to get in there and start asking questions.  Everyone is quite happy to help out new members – no question is too basic.
