I don't have a farm or any kind of aquaponics set-up at present. I live on a suburban lot of about 600 sq.metres [about 6,300sq ft] and became interested in aquaponics, and the related issue of 'Green Roofs', as a Town Planner [now retired] concerned about the issue of 'sustainable food' production.
While I am interested in eventually setting up a system, I have to work towards that. There are some well-established aquaponics operations here in Queensland, Australia [see Murray Hallam's site www.practicalaquaponics.com], but I have yet to get involved. I do note, however, that 'Tilapia' are a banned fish in Queensland and I believe also in the other States of Australia, as they are an introduced species and have had a deleterious effect on native fish. There is a very heavy fine if you are found with them.

Hi Fathy,

Thanks for your interest.
