A wild ride indeed! We weren't as smart as you about selling our investment (also kind of hard politically as a company officer and founder to sell).
Just let me know when a visit works for you and Neshama. I work from home and am here most of the time. This afternoon might be especially nice as there is no better place to be on a cold snowy day than a greenhouse!
How fascinating about your thesis! Small, funny world we live in. There is actually quite a bit of aquaponics activity in Colorado (you should join the Colorado Aquapons group in here). Probably partially my doing through classes I've taught with Lifelong Learning and the Denver Botanic Gardens, but also JD Sawyer with Colorado Aquaponics and Growhaus and Feed Denver.
Thanks for joining the Aquaponic Gardening community! I hope you find it a fun place to explore aquaponics. There is a real blend of experienced and new aquapons in this community, so please don’t hesitate to get in there and start asking questions. Everyoneis quite happy to help out new members – no question is too basic.
A great place to start is to read the “How to Use This Site” link on the upper right corner, “Start Here” section of the Main page. You might also find the “Aquaponic Gardening Rules of Thumb” guidelines helpful.
Please participate and check in with us every day! Weare constantly posting news about aquaponics and the good food movement.
Thanks again for joining us, and I look forward to getting to know you.
My standard welcome letter will follow, but let me start by saying how excited I am to have you in here. I also live in Boulder, and you and I (and your wife) met many years ago at AeroGrow. I was one of the original founding group there in charge of plant R&D, product development, and ultimately marketing. I finally left in Oct, 2009. Meanwhile I see your name come up every so often, perhaps with the Transition group?
Anyway, if you would like to come visit my aquaponic greenhouse someday please let me know and we can arrange a time. I'm obviously a huge fan of this growing method and I think it is going to be a critical part of the solution set for sustainable global food production very soon.
