Are you an aquaponic gardener already?
yes
If so, what type of system? (pick all that apply)
I'm putting together a company called Shwava, Inc. based on the central coast of California, to build commercial systems that primarily will be sold using a franchise model, complete with site review, design, installation, training, remote monitoring, and support. We are especially interested in working with organic growers of wine grapes, strawberries (escape your dependence on methyl bromide) and high-end "heirloom" greens, as well as hydroponic vegetable and flower growers looking to trade-up to aquaponics via retrofit. We can design systems of any dimension, for any location that will produce clean, fresh fish and organic produce year-round. Shwava will also offer an on-line marketplace where buyers, sellers, investors, donors and serious hobbyists can come together. Franchisees will also have access to Shwava's growing regional distribution networks of CSAs. We're working on our website and I'll post a link on this site when it's up.
Please tell us something else about yourself.
My company is named after the sound my four year-old son and his best little buddy make whenever they see each other. When I asked my son what "Shwava" meant, he said, "Shwava means fun!" I've had so much fun learning about aquaponics and it feels so great to know that my company can truly make a difference in decentralizing food production, reducing pollution, freeing up critical water supplies, etc. etc. that it's not really work at all --it's the most fun I've ever had!

It really sounds intrresting with the convertions of regula hydroponics to aquaponics, I have been doing a little search around for it and from what I find. There is no one who have yet build a aquaponic production. there is a few university studies and ecology institues that have or do research on the matter.

I have yet to find any info on what this can produce compared to regula hydroponics, if you will be able to crop around the same amount per sq meter grow beds as you would do with commercial nutrients. Here in Denmark and Holland there is lot of energy spend on heating the greenhouses, it get's cold here in the spring/fall and freezing in the winter.

If it works in this climat, im shure it have a lot of potential for veggie growers in Denmark and Holland, it's only a matter of convinceing the greenhouse companys to do a conversion. I hope I can do some studies and help promote it around here, I do live in the middle of Denmarks Greenhouse industry area.
