We have 3-3x8 gravel medium grow beds and 2-300 gal fish tanks in a greenhouse. The system has sensors and microprocessors to monitor and control the system...installed by Kijani Grows. We are experienced organic gardeners. We currently have gold fish and koi in one of the ponds and are still trying to think of a food fish to put in the second tank....which is outside the greenhouse. Just added catfish from Jon Parr the beginning of February 2013....the one year anniversary of our system.

Sandra, I live in Burlingame and am trying start up a network of aquaponic growers in San Mateo, Santa Clara and San Francisco counties. If interested call or email me.
Nice to meet you. I was looking at the member map for experienced aquaponics people near me, and I you've had a system for more than a year, now! that's pretty sweet.
Anyway, I've studied aquaponics, and I've got some rather fetal plans to set up some kind of community outreach aquaponics system, hopefully in a food desert. Anyway, I am not the most experienced in building (I've had 2 failed systems), but I want to see what resources are available and if you're expertise could be compensated for as I look to build a system months in the future.
Thank you for your kind offer. Yes, I would love to help you hold a course in San Mateo. Please feel free to contact me by email with more details and your contact information so we can speak further and work out the details.
Yes, I certainly do know Erik Mandu. He and I ere featured in a TIME Magazine video 2 years ago, great guy!
Thanks for joining the Aquaponic Gardening community! I hope you find it a fun place to explore aquaponics. There is a real blend of experienced and new aquapons in this community, so please don’t hesitate to get in there and start asking questions. Everyone is quite happy to help out new members – no question is too basic.
A great place to start is to read the “How to Use This Site” link on the upper right corner, “Start Here” section of the Home page. You might also find the “Aquaponic Gardening Rules of Thumb” guidelines helpful.
Please add a profile image, participate and check in with us every day! We are constantly posting news about aquaponics and the good food movement.
Thanks again for joining us, and I look forward to getting to know you.
