You should also join Chris Smith's group, Coast View Aquaponics and get to know Chris. He uses a modified Friendly style system and sells produce in a way that is similar to what you are looking to do in Hawaii. Hope this helps!

There is a real blend of experienced and new aquapons in this community, so please don’t hesitate to join in.
