I am an Environmental Studies & Sustainability major at Northern Michigan University, with a passion for sustainable agriculture. I currently have: 2 Yellow Perch and a Crayfish in the 20 gallon tank on a flood and drain system growing Beans, Peas, Spinach, Lettuce, Arugula, and Spider Plants; 2 Goldfish and 2 Crayfish in a 10 gallon tank on a flood and drain system growing Beans, Peas, Arugula, Cilantro, and Lettuce; another 10 gallon tank with 2 Crayfish and feeder-minnows on a flood and drain system growing Spinach, Lettuce, Beets, and Arugula... planning to add a vertical dimension to a different tank with a "window-farm" type drip system....

Welcome Leeroy,

Thanks for joining the Aquaponic Gardening community!  I hope you find it a fun place to explore aquaponics.  There is a real blend of experienced and new aquapons in this community, so please don’t hesitate to get in there and start asking questions.  Everyone is quite happy to help out new members – no question is too basic.

A great place to start is to read the “How to Use This Site” link on the upper right corner, “Start Here” section of the Home page.  You might also find the “Aquaponic Gardening Rules of Thumb” guidelines helpful.
