- We have 7.5 acres in NE Fl. that we want to go off grid on and become fully sustainable and as self sufficient as possible using solar and wind generated electricity in our earth covered house.
I see aquaponics as the only viable approach for fish and vegetables. We are also seeking to plant, harvest and preserve heirloom varieties of as many different vegetables as possible.

7.5 acres...Boy! I am already jealous...ha ha ha. You are right, Aquaponics is "the only viable approach for fish and vegetables" . Try to attend the Florida Aquapon Tour o March 5th. I am sure that you really will learn a lot and then can share your experiences with the rest of us.
