I'm just about to get started with a small system indoors. I hope to move soon to a rural location where I can set up two 1400 gallon tanks, and eventually a 3000 gallon natural pond.
I plan on raising Tilapia, Catfish, and crawdads. Aside form the usual vegetables, I also plan on growing tobacco outside in a NFT system. I'll probably also grow as much corn outdoors in the same NFT system for animal feed. Along with the fish, I plan on raising chickens, goats, hogs, and rabbits, so a large part of what I will be growing will be dedicated to animal feed. I'm also interested in growing grain not just for animal feed, but also for making beer and other spirits. This looks like a nice and informative site to learn from. I'm in the designing stages now for my systems. I'm well educated in Hydroponics already, but the Aquaponics bug has bit me and I'm afraid I'm infected now haha.
