No
Please tell us something else about yourself.
I am interested in the internship possibility. I also would be interested in staying longer than three months.

I have been interested hydroponics for about 12 years and have always hoped to build a hydroponic vegetable garden. Recently, I learned of acquaponic gardening and have been searching for full-time aquaponic internships eversince.

My experience with gardening/farming consists of the gardens I have planted on my own over the past years and the organic farm/garden I helped plant and maintain a few summers ago. Additionally, I have spent about 1.5 years of my life building custom homes so that construction experience may come in handy as your garden expands.

I live in Phoenix and trying to plan a tour of aquaponics people's systems, if
you would be interested in seeing what others are doing in our area and/or would
like to show off your own system please send me an email at 3ddd@cox.net and put

AP TOUR in the subject line.

Well there are aquaponics internships out in HI with Friendly Aquaponics.  Or you might contact Morningstar Fishermen in Florida.  I don't know of much in the way of paid internships though.  If you would like a colder climate or the challenge of working with indoor aquaponics that needs lighting upgrades to grow the plants better, you might contact Sweet Water Organics in Milwaukee to see if they want any interns.  It is really cold there now though.

Welcome Alec,

Thanks for joining the Aquaponic Gardening community!  I hope you find it a fun place to explore aquaponics.  There is a real blend of experienced and new aquapons in this community, so please don’t hesitate to get
in there and start asking questions.  Everyone
is quite happy to help out new members – no question is too basic.

A great place to start is to read the “How to Use This Site” link on the upper right corner, “Start Here” section of the Main page.  You might also find the “Aquaponic Gardening Rules of Thumb” guidelines helpful.

Check with Chris Smith of Coastview Aquaponics in Hawaii.  He had an internship posted in the Jobs tab above.  I also think that the folks at Sweetwater (I'd start with Jesse Hull in here) sometimes look for interns.  If I hear of any others I'll let you know.

Thanks again for joining us, and I look forward to getting to know you.

Sylvia
