You can't really see it in this photo, but the spinning column of water
being driven into the water is effectively stirring the tank. Much more
circulation than what a straight vertical jet of water does, and more
gentle than simply blasting the water at an angle. Also, there are lots and
lots of teeny tiny air bubbles fizzing up. Smaller bubbles means more air
dissolving into the water.
