We got our towers moved in- they're pretty wilty from the heat (pre fans) but we just finished whitewashing our floor this morning and have fans in, so we're in good shape now.

Hi Zachary,
Ratios are primarily based on fish biomass and feeding rates compared to the biological surface area of the system. For towers, I recommend 0.125lbs of fish per linear foot of tower, or around 1 lb of fish per 5' tower. The towers will support a growout stocking density of around 10 lbs per 5' tower once the system is established and mature, so long as your feeding rates aren't too agressive. I will tell you that I've run up to 20lbs per tower without too many problems, but I don't recommend this.
Have you published any fish to plant ratios for or zipgrow system or are they similar to NFT ratios?
Yeah, we'll go to RO once we can afford the system, until then we'll have to watch our pH and change our pH raising regime. Our water has a lot of calcium carb. in it so we'll be switching primarily to KOH and watch for deficiencies. Once we get RO in we'll be cooking with fire!
Yeah, I imagine trucking in all that water was a major PITA, but ya got it done...will you be utilizing another RO rig in this incarnation once your tapped in?
Thanks Vlad! Things are incredibly messy and all of the "new system bugs" are presenting themselves, but overall it's going well. We'll be tapped into water soon so we won't have to truck it in, and then we'll be sitting pretty.
Looking good Nate. Congrats!
