Hi TC,

Thank you for the explanation, I would like to install this drain on my 1/2 IBC tanks. I am finally at a point where I may find some time to plumb these tanks to my system. I will likely be in touch soon.

There are three beds sharing the 3" drain pipe.

Hay Moses, don't let the extra plumbing fittings fool you, it is just a grow bed with a simple stand pipe drain for timed flood and drain.  the extra fittings are just to go from one size to another and allow me to hook up a breather pipe to make sure no airlocks block the water flow and the rubber coupling to make it easy to take apart and a little wiggle room in case things are not cut/lined up perfectly.

On the inside of the bed there is a gravel guard around the drain pipe and an elbow facing up into which I place the stand pipe that has a few small holes around the bottom of it just above the elbow.  The stand pipe is removable for cleaning/adjustment.  The beds flood in sequence using a pump on a timer feeding an Aquaponics Indexing Valve.

Hi TC,

Do You have any Forum Discussion on this style of drain?

Just getting ready for the workshop.  This one has all it's plumbing done though nothing is glued.
