Slide 9 shows an example of a CHOP Mark 2 system.  Basically in CHOP Mark 2, everything drains to the sump and the pump feeds everything so the sump tank can't be counted as a clean water sump but it will act like a settling tank to some extent.

CHOP stands for constant height one pump.  In the original version the fish tank would overflow to the grow beds and the grow beds would drain to the sump tank and the pump would pump to the fish tank.
