God bless,
Thank you Averan,
Here is the first video that I posted around this time last year. I have changed a few things since then but the basic are the same.
One one system, I have one 1,000 gallon tank that houses the Koi & goldfish and one small pump that controls 4 types of AP growing. this is the one with the 2 55 gallon bio/solids filter barrels. Actually here I am kind of combining UVI & Friendlys teaching...trying to keep it low density as regards stocking of fish but also providing some bio/solids filtration and mineralization. Water returns back to the Koi pond via gravity.
The Media based systems have no bio/filter tanks other than the fish crate that houses the pump in the IBC (now have 3 of them). Here I also make use of a sump pump. If I was to grow all at a lower height, the sump tank would be adequate. However, as i am using a lot of verticals (I just love them), I do need another pump.
Please do ask. I am happy to share. May not have all the answers but will try :-)
God bless,
Loving your system! I've been designing something similar, using every kind of AP module possible to maximize production and was thrilled to see you already putting it into practice. =)
I've been looking over your photos and can't see where you have placed the fish.....where are they?
What size tank do you have?
Are the 2 55gal barrels enough of a bio/solids filter?
How do you have the sump setup? I can't tell where the water goes once it has passed through your DWC rafts, which I assume are the last module before returning the water back to the fish.
Sorry for all the questions! :D
