I think I have to turn on a heater wen winter get hire my system is a raft and from Nov. to the end of Feb I will have to shut down the flow to the beds and keep the water circulating only at the fish tank, the clarified and bio tanks , what am thinking is having a second pump circulating inside the tank I noticed that in my pond the koy and goldfish gather around the pump in the winter it look that the pump generate some heat and they like it. also I will build with pbc pipes 3"D & 8" L tie together like a colony for them to get in it.. I don't know but it may help.

Seems like if you slow it down (with a valve) even more, in the winter, you'll have a better chance of keeping that 78F. Or at least something close to that, which will keep those tilapia happy. Maybe I'm just dreaming on those winter temps. Do you think you'll be able to keep tilapia, when the temperature dips? It's my goal, here in Northern California, but can't figure it, without spending money on heating. Thanks for all your great pictures and updates.
